Methods of management in management

Management is a management skill. Without owning thoroughly this art, it is impossible to create fully the successful enterprise. The quality of work, as well as psychological climate in collective to a large extent depends on the head, on his ability to organize and construct work, on his ability to operate.

Each head has the task which depends on specifics of the enterprise which he directs. Irrespective of the enterprise is engaged in release or sale of products, each head has to perform certain functions on organization of labor. Planning, rationing and motivation, coordination and regulation and also control belong to them.

Performing the functions, the head has to know for what he does it, i.e. the object has to be accurately set, aimless work will not make profit. And here it becomes clear, functions and methods of management are how connected among themselves.

Methods of management in management are ways, ways of achievement of a goal. Them exists a little, but, choosing one of methods (or a little) managements of any given company, the good head always relies on the principles of management – i.e. rules which define how it is necessary to operate. The principles and methods of management are inseparably linked, it is impossible to choose a way of management, without knowing rules.

Methods of management

There are several basic principles and methods of management. Organizational methods of management have direct influence and are obligatory. Here design, regulation, rationing belong. Personnel management has three main organizational and administrative or organizational and administrative methods:

  • the obligatory instruction (the order, will lock, etc.);
  • conciliatory methods (consultation, permission of disputable situations, search of compromises);
  • recommendations, wishes (council, explanation, offer, versatile communication, etc.).

The management of people demands decent knowledge in the field of people's psychology, but as not all heads the diplomaed psychologists, social and psychological methods of management will help to keep everything under control: this creation of good climate in collective, the system of encouragement, ability to convince, inspire, a personal example.

Motivational methods help to find that factor, that key which will force personnel to carry out the duties qualitatively. And it not always material or monetary rewards. Sometimes the diploma and a usual praise suffices.

In spite of the fact that the same method of management can be used at the different enterprises, the result is opposite. The thing is that in a control system there is such concept as management style – how the head makes decisions (individually or consults on someone) what incentive and motivation it chooses (fear to be fired or opportunity to get an award) in what manner talks to subordinates (keeps detached, at a distance, or it is amicable and is opened). Methods and management styles very often define what climate will be in collective with what mood the employees will come to work.

Economic methods are inseparably linked with money and an equipment of management. Treat them - the cost, profit, salary level, the system of financing and crediting and so forth.

Methods of increase in management efficiency

There are several methods thanks to which management becomes more effective and brings positive result.

  1. System approach and control – nothing can qualitatively work if work only partially improves. All components are closely connected among themselves therefore and it is necessary to work in all directions at the same time.
  2. The accurate and clear purposes and tasks – that something worked well and long, it is necessary to define clear and main the feasible purposes and tasks. The task be outlined only generally as it will not be clear that it is necessary to make that to execute it cannot.
  3. Timely modernization – with new technologies and devices work will be more productive as the modernized enterprises can carry out more and more qualitatively, quicker and with smaller expenses.
  4. Staff development – the is higher skill level of each employee, the more productively and goals will be carried out more qualitatively.
